Acne, which is one of the skin diseases we encounter very often, usually starts in adolescence and may leave permanent scars if it is not treated. It appears in areas of the skin that are high in fat content and manifests as red pimples, cysts, blackheads.

Although it occurs mostly in adolescence between the ages of 12-18, it is a disease that can be seen at any age, both in women and men. Its incidence in society is over 80 percent.

In adolescence, the amount of fat under the skin increases and the sebaceous glands deteriorate. As a result, inflamed, swollen bumps are formed on the skin. It is seen in the face, chest, back, neck, shoulder region.

Especially in the face area, acne stays as a scar if left untreated or may continue throughout life. This leads to deterioration of the physical image and affects the psychology of the person.

There are many different types of acne. Sometimes it appears as black or white dots. This is usually mild. Sometimes it is in the form of large and hard cysts that cause pain. There are also inflamed pimples. These are called pustules.

Sebum, a substance in the oil structure, protects the skin. When sebum cannot go out from the hair root, it accumulates and causes acne formation. This substance accumulates here prevents the removal of dead cells and causes congestion. Thus, a suitable environment is formed for the reproduction of bacteria.

With the growth of these bacteria, redness, swelling and pain occur. Inflammation occurs. As a result of this situation lasting, acne bursts and its contents flow out.
